Workshop at RO-MAN 2025
In the week of August 25th, I attended the IEEE International Conference on Robot and Human Interactive Communication in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
On Monday, we organised the BRIDGE workshop (Social Robots from Childhood to Young Adulthood Bonding, Responsibility, Interactions Across Domains, Growth of Interdisciplinary Knowledge, and Ethics). We had a series of inspiring expert presentations and a poster session. In the afternoon, I led a round table discussion. To close the day, together with dr. Sofia Serholt, I led a panel discussion featuring prof. dr. Elly Konijn (VU Amsterdam), Ali Paikan (Lux.ai), prof. Aylin Küntay (Koç University) and prof. dr. Astrid Rosenthal-von der Pütten (RWTH Aachen University).
Then, throughout the week, I attended many presentations and met other robot researchers. On Friday, I attended the PubRob-Fails workshop (Real-World HRI in Public and Private Spaces: Successes, Failures, and Lessons Learned), where we shared our experiences with robot field studies, distilled lessons learned and even had a meme competition about robot field studies.
All in all, it was a very fun, inspiring and busy week with plenty of food for thought for future research.
